The City of Warwick will hold its annual remembrance ceremony Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the 9/11 Memorial Garden in Oakland Beach to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
The ceremony will begin at 10:28 a.m. with a moment of silence to observe the exact time when the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed.
Among our Guest Speakers is Ian Donis, political Reporter for Rhode Island PBS since 2009 and former Bishop Hendricken President and current Chaplain to Warwick Police and Fire Departments, Father Robert Marciano. Fr. Bob is a retired Colonel and Chief of Chaplains of the RI National Guard. In 2023, he was recognized as the RI Italian

Each year we incorporate members of the Warwick Police and Fire Departments, veterans and local school children into our ceremony. This community event is open to the public and is disability inclusive. Seating is limited so please consider bringing a camp chair. This is a local memorial event. Kindly be respectful of our mourners in attendance.

MISSION: Boots to Briefcases sponsors a Veterans Coffee Break the second Monday of each month at the Pilgrim Senior Center, at 27 Pilgrim Parkway, Warwick RI from 10:30 - 11:45. This is a great opportunity to network with other veterans, have your questions answered, hear from informative speakers or register for healthcare benefits through the Veterans Administration.
The next Veterans Coffee Break is September 8, 2025. Our Guest Speakers are from Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL) and RI Medicare from 10:30 - 11:45, Pilgrim Senior Center.
