For more than 170 years, dedicated volunteers and staff have worked side by side to ensure that no Rhode Islander goes without food, shelter, or hope. A look at the enduring mission that keeps this work alive.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Rhode Island has been a constant presence in the lives of Rhode Island families since 1853. Through economic booms and busts, through wars and recoveries, through every generation of challenge and change, the organization has remained committed to its founding mission: meeting people where they are and helping them access what they need.
The work is carried out primarily by volunteers — thousands of them across Rhode Island — who give their time, their resources, and their compassion to neighbors in need. It is a model that scales because it is built on genuine human connection, not bureaucratic process.
For veterans and their families, the Society offers practical assistance with food, clothing, household essentials, and utility needs. These are not small things. For a family navigating a difficult transition, access to these basics can be the difference between stability and crisis.
MB2B is proud to include St. Vincent de Paul Rhode Island in our network of trusted community partners. When veterans and families need help with basic needs, we know we can point them toward an organization with 170 years of proven service.
We are grateful for their partnership and for the thousands of volunteers who make this work possible every day.
